We are happy to announce the launch of two contests today: WMBF’s Best of the Grand Strand and Cleveland’s FOX 8 HOT LIST. Last year, the Myrtle Beach WMBF’s Best of the Grand Strand contest almost tripled the number of votes compared to the previous year. We are excited to see how the 2011 contest heats up and so far we are off to a great start!
Cleveland’s FOX 8 HOT LIST garnered over 140,000 votes last year. In 2010, the category with the largest number of votes was Pizza, with over 6,000 votes! Clevelanders must really love their pizza! Will Antonio’s Pizza be able to keep their first place win? If so, it would make it their fourth consecutive win. Guess we will have to wait and see!
Voting started today, and we are excited to hear from the Cleveland and Myrtle Beach locals. Can’t wait to find out who the BEST of 2011 are!

McGraw Hill, our partner of 5 years, has just wrapped up its 3 contests: Denver, San Diego and Indy. This year was bigger and better than ever with each city garnering over 138,000 votes. Denverites proved that they are very passionate about local favorites with almost 200,000 votes; 41% more than last year.
Between these three cities, there were over 120,000 recommendations on what makes each customer’s favorites the BEST. We were excited to announce the winners of the Denver and Indy contests last week, as well as San Diego this week. Check back soon to see if your favorites won!

We are excited to announce the 4th annual Best of Western Washington contest kicked off on Monday. Seattle has always been our biggest contest, and this year is sure to be nothing different. In the first three days we’ve had more than 30,000 people vote and have already collected more than 100,000 votes. Last year the Best of Western Washington contest received over 400,000 votes, and we are confident that number can be topped this year with the help of many passionate locals in Seattle.
During the 2010 contest, Local Bands, Bakery and Burgers were among the front runners of all of the categories with the most votes (over 7,000 each!). What could be better than good food and music? This year’s contest will test Seattle’s locals knowledge more than ever before with new categories such as Teriyaki, Movie Theater, and Local Podcast.
We can’t wait to see who the winners are this year. So vote for your favorites and be sure to check out our new feature “Vote Impact”, which lets you see how much your vote influenced the standings on the race to the #1 spot.
